Cigar Bands

Founded in the early 19th century, the Toscano cigar is rich in history, tradition and heritage. According to the legend of Toscano, a bale of fermented Kentucky tobacco leaves were dried and made into inexpensive cigars for the people of Florence. A simple band is put around each cigar, which today is still one of Toscano's characteristics.

Toscano Originale Cigar Band Toscano Originale has a band with the colors of the Italian flag. It also has the portrait of Leopold, Grand Duke of Tuscany from 1824-1859. His father Ferdinand III owned the tobacco factory where Toscano cigars were first produced. Leopold was recognized as a liberal monarch, authorizing the Tuscan Constitution of 1848, and allowing a degree of free press.
Toscano Antico Cigar Band Toscano Antico sports a band with the Italian flag colors and a picture of the tobacco factory belonging to Ferdinand III. This is the place where a bale of Kentucky tobacco leaves which had been drying in the open were caught in an unexpected downpour of rain. The place where the famous Toscano legend started.
Toscano Originale Cigar Band Toscano Extravecchio has a simple band of green, white and red around each cigar. The name of the cigar is printed in the white strip at the center of each band. The words "Extra" and "Vecchio" are separated by a dot, to emphasize the cigar's superior aging. "Vecchio" means "Old, Aged" in Italian.
Toscano Originale Cigar Band Toscano Classico and Toscano Classico Vintage both have the same band: stripes of brown and cream, with the Italian flag colors in the middle. On the white color, the band reads "Prodotto in Italia", which means "Made in Italy". A central, round medallion sports the logo of Manifatture Sigaro Toscano and the name of the product. Older bands Toscano Classico were the opposite: product name on the flag, and "Made in Italy" on the medallion.
Toscano Originale Cigar Band Toscano Antica Riserva sports a grey band with a medallion, which depicts the portrait of Venus in the painting "The Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli, one of the most famous Italian painters of the Early Renaissance. Botticelli was commissioned by the Medici family of Florence, and the painting is currently on display at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.
Toscano Originale Cigar Band Toscano Anno Domini 1492 features and elegant, cream-colored band. At the center of the band is an oval medallion reproducing the 1492 logo in darker brown. The band ends with the stripes of the Italian flag in green, white, and red.
